Tiffany Blue

A customer requested a set of posters in Tiffany blue that were similar in style to my liquid floral images. I just sent these to her for review...hope she liked them! I will do four in all which will go up on Imagekind and Artist Rising soon. Enjoy and thanks for visiting.

Urban voices...

I completed these over the weekend.  What a job! There are so many layers and often times...most of the time actually - I had to wait for each part to dry before doing the next part so I would paint a small section ..set it out to dry...clean the brush...bring the painting back in...paint again. Repeat.
I am happy with the way they came out however. The next plan is to clean them up a bit digitally to make them ready for posters. and then..I'm going to have some fun. I think I will digitally chop up the last four paintings and create a whole new series of posters and add digital elements. I'm excited to get started with this!
Anyway - here are the pieces. Check back soon to get links for posters.

Sun Rays

Here are two mixed media pieces on wood panel. 8x10. I've been influenced by sunrays lately. I love the bold movement and energy of sunrays but I don't want them to look perfect. I want them to look real. After I painted them I sanded them a bit which brought out some of the background. Both of these paintings had several paintings underneath which I always believe makes the top painting better. I will be adding them as posters on Imagekind and Artist Rising soon.

Drips

I discovered the magic of drops by viewing Hung Lu's work at the Oakland Museum. If you can make it to see her exhibit please do. It's powerful.

Here's my rendition - Urban Macro 1 and Urban Macro 2. each of these are on panel, 4x8 & 8x10. Mixed media...lots of color...and available for sale.

These were a good lesson for me because I get so afraid of ruining a piece and doing too much and these pieces allowed me the freedom to create and not worry about staying inside the lines so to speak. It's good to just let go and see what happens.
