Going to Ireland...

I have taken photos of Ireland and manipulated them by adjusting color, adding filters, layer subtle color and cropping. Then I juxtaposed another photo next to it to create a balanced piece. These photos were taken in the west of Ireland near County Mayo and Enniscrone in June 2013.

Things With Paper

I labored over these two which I don't usually do. No matter how I made the top half it just wasn't right and I painted over it--and over it--and over it. I think this time it's right. But it did take a stepping away time to view it with fresh eyes a day later. Thus we have a Horizon Made of Paper 1 & 2.
My thing for circles shows up but not as intense as other times. I'm thinking maybe do something like this again but looser and the colors less somber. Your thoughts?

When Two Become One

These two pieces are actually four. I painted each piece individually in mixed media on wood panel. Once complete they were scanned in at very high res - then merged together to create two panels. These were a good exercise for me because I had to step away and think about them. At first I though it was done. But I wasn't sure so I left them there for two days. When I returned - with a refreshed mind I was able to see that they were not done...so many layers later I finished them and was happy with the result. The completed pieces have depth and dimension and a lot of going on underneath the layers.

Before there was orange - there was yellow...

I was just checking sales on a few sites that sell my art prints and there was a sudden burst of spring & summer! My sales of the Yellow Petals series went very well this week...which has otherwise been very slow. Maybe it's just seasonal because it's the start of summer and these pieces are very summery or maybe yellow is the new green or something like that. At any rate - it really doesn't matter. What matters is that they sell and people like them and they are cute and bright and frankly - this week has been pretty dang bright! so it's a perfect fit. Here they are and a link to Artist Rising. and then there was orange...

...and green. These pieces were originally created in Tiffany Blue for a client but then I got to thinking that with a few changes...flip a little...change some layers...add and subtract some lines I could come up with new images. Thus we have three new ones  - two citron green and one tangerine tango. They will be set up as posters by the weeks end.

Celestial Encounters

I had these extra panels sitting around and I just started thinking that they really needed circles...and then they needed clouds so the clouds and the circles got together and made Celestial Strangers 1, 2 & 3. Now they just need some moondust sprinkled. Anyone get the Carpenters reference? anyone?

More Tiffany Blue

I planned on only doing four of these images but five just seemed better. So here we have the last three Tiffany Blue pieces. I have uploaded these to my Artist Rising site and to Imagekind for posters. Next thing is to change the leaf colors for several new sets. I'm thinking citron green...and ....orange!
