Life's Little Surprises
Life sends surprises which are fun...add interest...are definitely a distraction...and add inspiration. So the other day a customer contacted me and told me that my art was featured on page 70 of the latest HGTV Magazine. I was thrilled! And I wanted to find it....so after searching a few stores I picked it up at a drugstore and flipped through it to be certain and sure enough there it was page 70...and page 4...and page 69! Wow...that was unexpected. So here is is - the March issue of HGTV...thank you thank you to this fun and colorful magazine. and by the way - it's called Deconstructed Landscape and can be found here on Art.com.

Retro or modern?
I shot these photos a few weeks back in Palm Springs and then I posted them on Instagram using one of their filters. I love the way they look like they were shot many years ago - especially the one with the car. We saw the car on the street and then walked by this house and there was the car in the driveway so we stopped right away and captured this. There was an alarm sign in the front but with a little Photoshop magic I was able to make that disappear. #palmsprings #laspalmas

Abstract Landscapes...
I'm working larger - finally! These are 11x14...still not that large but baby steps right?
Here we have four abstract landscapes on 11x14x1.5 wood panel. I love wood panel because it's so much more forgiving than canvas. And my husband frames them in solid wood floater frames and they really stand out.
These four will be in a show starting December 8th at the Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery in Lafayette. I haven't priced them yet but more than likely they will run about $350 each.

The Do Over
I had this spare 30x40 wood panel substrate that was begging me for a painting. But you know I paint small so this was going to be a challenge.
I had to listen to my inner critic here and to tell myself that if it didn't feel good then to continue working on it. Simply put - if you don't like the painting you have nothing to lose by continuing to work on it. If you don't work on the painting what is the alternative? It sits in your studio and does nothing - pleases no one and has no life.
And now it goes to the photographer for a high res capture - and then to my framer at Clayton Valley Frameworks and then it becomes available for sale. #lifeisgood
- The first iteration was a striped landscape. It felt forced.
- The second iteration was better but dark and lacked energy.
- The third iteration nearly didn't make it but when I had the mixed media details of charcoal and conte crayon plus the paint splatters in the foreground it worked. Yes! I had success.

The Art of Cannabis
I decided to take cannabis leaves and turn them into something botanical and artistic. I noticed there are very few illustrations of cannabis out there and even less of images that could also be considered wall decor. So here is my take on this fabulous plant. I set them up as posters and other product on Zazzle and Red Bubble. Need a scarf? How about a phone cover? Or a t-shirt, notebook and coasters?

Going to The Beach
I'm a little obsessed with beach huts right now. You know those colorful tiny huts that line the shores on the east coast as well as England and other coastal cities in Europe?
So here's a new painting of a few beach huts. One is the incomplete painting oand the second one is all done. It's acrylic on 8x10x1.5 wood panel. Message me if you are interested in purchasing.

More small affordable originals...
The 6x6 original paintings continue and several sold in a gallery show and now we have a collection that is available for purchase here. These were fun to do and I feel like I learned something new with each one and then I took chances and decided to move them forward in different ways and even tried color palettes I'm not altogether comfortable with. If you are interested in any of these just email me. All purchases are easily paid through Pay Pal right here and the cost is $95.00 each. I will bill you separately for shipping which won''t be much considering how small the paintings are.
To identify each one just tell me which one it is in the order that it is featured.
Thank you!
