Walking Legs

Skinny legs walking. Skinny legs dancing. I rendered these in black ink on vellum and they are very small. I scanned them in at 600 dpi but still they broke up a lot so then I drew over the lines and filled them in to make them more solid. Finally I added the skirts made of flowers. many layers of flowers. It's where goth, romance and and urban inspiration all meet at an intersection. and then I made them available as iPhone cases, posters, plates, coaster and all sorts of fun stuff!

Things that are broken....

These two landscapes are broken...but in a good way because they came back together to resemble a jumble of textures and landscape colors and now cohabitate to create an entirely new space. Perhaps another dimension or another universe. Someplace no one has ever been.

Created digitally and enlivened with my favorite hues like teal, citron, aqua & tangerine. Oh...butter yellow of course.

Available here on Imagekind, Artists Rising and Red Bubble.

Thinking About Pumpkin Pie

I wrote a few more short stories. Some are motivated by life events and then I change a little, exaggerate a little, embellish a little and create a story. Other times I think of the title and create a story around it.

Here are Pumpkin Pie and Drowning in Mediocrity.  Stories from life....

Art & Healthcare

I am a firm believer that art creates a healthy space. When you see something on a wall that makes you feel good or gives you a sense of peace then this is the perfect segue to good health. So imagine how thrilled I was when several of my fine art prints were chosen to be part of the wall decor at a children's health center in London on Harley Street. What an honor and a huge compliment.

The licensing agent, ZigZag Art in London placed these pieces and were kind enough to send photos.

Mixed Media and Natural History

I go through periods of time where I create a lot of mixed media pieces. Then I stop. Maybe months or even a year go by and I don't create any. Then I do. These two were done at least three or four years ago and I pulled them out of a drawer and and really looked at them. I like them. I used rice paper and old magazines and text from old books and even a piece of paper about natural history. Must have been an old botanical etching. They are small...with lots of character. They are minimal yet have depth and soul.

Do these look small or big? What do you think they look like or represent?
